Just like the previous year, the 1994 K-1 World Grand Prix gathered the 8 best kickboxers in the heavyweight division under one roof.
The first-ever K-1 champion Branko Cikatic, Peter Aerts, Andy Hug is making his debut, the home crowd hero Masaaki Satake and Patrick Smith were just half of those who came to Tokyo in order to face the very best of the best.
Andy Hug was the fan favorite to go all the way, but the Swiss karateka was defeated in his very first fight, making the 1994 event open for the rest.
“The Durch Lumberjack” reaches his first final and in the other corner is none-other than Masaaki Satake who dethroned last year’s winner Cikatic at the semis.
In case you never had the chance to watch it, now we’re giving you the opportunity to witness kickboxing history. It won’t take more than 15 minutes, we promise.
