SENSHI 20 will offer even more exciting action and extreme battles in the arena in Varna

Only a few days are left until the 20th-anniversary edition of the professional gala SENSHI 20, whose first edition with an intense combat spectacle was held again in February in the sea capital Varna, but in 2019. In a summary of the past five years and 19 spectacular editions of the combat circuit, we will introduce you to some of the impressive and exciting facts about SENSHI related to the results that contributed to the development of international galas and made a high contribution to the popularization of combat sports.

During the 19 editions of SENSHI, the spectators enjoyed the martial talent of hundreds of professional fighters and representatives of the martial schools of dozens of countries from several continents. SENSHI has hosted incredible fights that have featured 244 professional fighters from around the world, including 10 women. Their appearance in the arena shows the importance of equality in martial arts, and the crowd applauded the fighting spirit of Dutch legend Peter Aerts’ daughter Montana Aerts, Portuguese Deborah Evora, and Kim-Alina Ross from Australia.

The high fighting skills, bravery in the ring, and high commitment to martial arts of all SENSHI fighters inspire millions of fans worldwide, and the professional circuit has attracted representatives from as many as 48 countries. This great diversity of fighters shows again the international recognition and appeal of SENSHI as a leading event in the martial arts world in recent years.

Since the first edition on 23 February 2019, 38 Bulgarians have defended the honor of their homeland in the SENSHI ring. The next in number of fighters who have stood in the ring are 17 representatives of Spain and 14 Serbian fighters known for their aggressive style of play. The SENSHI stage also welcomed several professionals from several African countries – Morocco, Benin, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, etc.

Among the Bulgarian stars of the circuit are the winners of the European titles in different categories – Dragomir Petrov (70 kg), Atanas Bozhilov (75 kg), Aleksandar Petrov (85 kg) and Eduard Aleksanyan (90 kg). Atanas Bozhilov is the fighter with the most significant number of victories in the ring at the event – 17 wins- while Petrov and Aleksanyan have accumulated 11 successful appearances at the galas. The unforgettable performances of the native fighters against strong opponents left the supporting audience speechless. After each successful match, they proved that Bulgaria produces many talents with high martial arts skills.

Fans of martial arts witnessed 243 spectacular bouts over the nineteen editions, with five championship belts for European titles in different weight classes on stage last 2023. Four of the titles went to the Bulgarians, and the last European title in the 95+ category was won by Ahmed Krnjic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who recorded seven appearances and six victories.

The new combat show SENSHI 20 will occur on 24 February 2024 at 18:00 at the Palace of Culture and Sports (DCS) in Varna, Bulgaria. Tickets for the 20th-anniversary edition of the international fight gala are available in the Eventim.bg network and combat sports fans can reserve seats in the hall’s first row.
