UFC middleweight champion – Israel Adesanya, is considered by many to be one of the best kickboxers in the MMA society.
The Nigeria born New Zealander is known for his deadly kicks and punches. He makes his adversaries crumble in front of him with his wide range of shots, but that doesn’t mean the 31-year-old fighter is not working on his ground game.
“The Last Stylebender” is true to his nickname, as he got promoted to a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu purple belt by one of the finest grapplers ever. Adesanya is working on his grappling under the mentorship of Andre Galvao.
The South American is a 4th dan black belt, six-time World ADCC champion, and multiple gold medalist from World and Pan-Am competitions. Not only that, but Galvao is a former MMA fighter who recently made a vow to return to the mixed martial arts.
Galvao himself posted a video in which he surprises Adesanya with his new rank during a training session. The UFC champ is 20-0 in his pro-MMA career and all of his victories came by way of knockout or decision.
