Jon Jones is looking for a new team to join

A new gym could soon find itself with a three-time UFC light heavyweight champion under its roof.

Jon Jones as busy on social media on Saturday night, asking fans on Twitter where they thought he should consider training after parting ways with the Jackson Wink team following his recent arrest in Las Vegas for charges that include domestic battery.

“Bones” was complimentary of his former team, but agreed with a comment that suggested the gym is not what it once was.
I don’t feel like I carried the team, we have lots of guys doing amazing things out of that gym,” Jones wrote. “I will admit the program isn’t at the level it used to be, and it hasn’t been for a while now.”

Jones’ departure was announced by Jackson Wink co-founder Mike Winkeljohn, who said that Jones would not be welcome at his longtime home gym in Albuquerque, N.M., until he quit drinking. Widely regarded as one of the best fighters in MMA history, Jones’ career has been derailed by multiple run-ins with the law as well as two USADA suspensions.

Despite the seemingly acrimonious nature of split, Jones tweeted that he was “grateful” for his time at Jackson Wink. He then added that he is on the lookout for new teams to work with.

efinitely won’t be going back but I will continue to root for all the fighters that are training there. I do believe my training methods and sessions have improved significantly since changing environments. Grateful for all the time I got to spend there, everything has its time

I know I won’t be able to train in my garage forever, eventually I’m going to need more training partners. Mainly wrestling partners and kickboxers. I’m on the lookout for teams that I’ll be able to visit and come train with, maybe get some sparring sessions in.

Jones has not competed since a successful title defense against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247 in February 2020. He later vacated the UFC light heavyweight title in anticipation of a move to the heavyweight division.

According to his social media, he is currently conducting his training sessions at a home gym.
