One of the most anticipated MMA fights for 2021 has been scrapped off from the UFC 269 fight card.
The welterweight clash between Jorge Masvidal and Leon Edwards won’t be taking place in December due to an injury Masvidal sustained during his training camp.
“Gamebred” was forced to withdraw from the bout on December 11 because of an undisclosed injury. There was no update on whether the Brit will remain on the card, or if the matchup will be rescheduled.
Masvidal hasn’t fought since UFC welterweight champion slept him back in April. Edwards, 30, was last seen in action in June when he defeated Nate Diaz.
