The German Bundesliga is by far one of the most intriguing and strong judo leagues in the world.
Top international judokas are being invited to participate for the German clubs and therefore the level is probably second to none.
Fortunately, the 2020 event will still be held, but it will take place in the form of the tournament instead of a league. The German Judo Association (DJB) is currently developing an alternative concept with the Bundesliga officials and clubs. It is planned to hold the first Bundesliga tournament from October 10th (men) to 11th (women), 2020.
The potential venue for the opening round is Brandenburg’s Senftenberg. Ten teams from the men’s Bundesliga and six teams from the women’s Bundesliga have currently signaled their interest in participating.
