Karate 1-Youth League Limassol cancelled due to coronavirus

The World Karate Federation has announced that the upcoming Karate 1-Youth League Limassol has been canceled because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Scheduled to take place from May 1 to 3 in Limassol (Cyprus), the Karate 1-Youth League Limassol was the opening event of the season of Karate’s first-class series of international tournaments for youngsters. The cancellation of the event is made effective upon the decision of the local organizers in line with the regulation of the government of Cyprus to control the global pandemic of coronavirus.

Conceived as a platform for the development of youngsters in their quest to progress in the sport, the Karate 1-Youth League puts the focus on young athletes ages 12 to 17. The 2020 season was supposed to start in Limassol (Cyprus) from May 1 to 3 with stops in Porec (Croatia) from July 3 to 5, Monterrey (Mexico) from September 25 to 27 and Venice (Italy) from December 4 to 6.
