The next edition of the Asian Games will have an anticipated Karate competition as one of its highlights
Hosted in Hangzhou (China), the 2022 Asian Games has the Karate competition scheduled for September 11 to 13.
Only one day after the official inauguration of the 19th edition of the Asian Games, Karate will take the stage at the biggest continental event in Asia. The competition will take place at the Linping Sports Centre Gymnasium in Hangzhou. The 12 categories of Kata and Kumite are expected to be presented at the event.
The 2022 Asian Games aim at continuing the success of Karate at the first-class multi-sport event in the continent. The last edition of the Asian Games was held in 2018 in Yakarta (Indonesia). Japan topped the medal table of the Karate competition of the Asian Games with four golds and six medals, followed by Iran and Chinese Taipei both with two gold medals. No less than 18 countries took home awards in the memorable 2018 Asian Games.
