Ketlen Vieira beats Miesha Tate via decision

Ketlen Vieira has won her first ever UFC main event , defeating former bantamweight champion Miesha Tate via UD.  The two ladies headlined UFC Vegas 43 event that took place yesterday in the UFC Apex facility.

Vieira was by far the more deserving fighter, as she was controlling the fight and landing some brutal head shots. At the end of the fight, Tate was all bloodied up and her left eye was pretty much shut down.

The Brazilian got all three judges voting for her – 48-47 twice and 49-46.

Tate’s counters were not working , as Vieira was too quick and powerful for her adversary. Vieira was using her height and reach advantage to perfection, landing uppercuts and body kicks at will.

Vieira has now won two of his last four fights, while the 35-year-old Tate suffers her first defeat since she came back earlier this year. After wowing fans with a solid win over Marion Reneau in her return after a five-year layoff, Tate looked more closely like a fighter still adjusting to the demands of the current climate in the UFC women’s bantamweight division.
