Ketlen Vieira vs. Miesha Tate is back on, this time as the headlining attraction for UFC Vegas 43 on Nov. 20. The company officially announced the pairing on Wednesday.
The bantamweight bout was originally expected to take place on Oct. 16, but news broke this past week that the match had been postponed after Tate tested positive for COVID-19.
A former UFC and Strikeforce bantamweight champion, Tate (19-7) recently returned from retirement to stop Marion Reneau with ground and pound. That win marked “Cupcake’s” first since choking out then-champion Holly Holm at UFC 200 in March 2016.
Vieira (11-2), ranked No. 8 in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, three spots over Tate, is coming off a decision defeat to Yana Kunitskaya in February, just five months after a win over Sijara Eubanks. The Nova União fighter is 5-2 under the UFC banner with key victories over Cat Zingano and Sara McMann.
