Kickboxing matches set for Anderson Silva’s sons Gabriel, Kalyl in California

Anderson Silva’s sons will enter a kickboxing ring to compete just months after “The Spider’s” stellar win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in boxing, MMA Fighting has learned.

Gabriel Silva, victorious in his first kickboxing matches in 2019 and 2020 to win the FightersRep middleweight title, is set to face Kristian Acevedo at FightersTep 10, which goes down in Seal Beach, Calif., on Aug. 13.

Silva and Acevedo hold the Southern and Northern IKF California middleweight championships, respectively, and will attempt to unify the belts at 165 pounds.

Kalyl Silva, 22, who plays forward for the LA10 in the United Premier Soccer League, will make his kickboxing debut against Anthony Reynaga in a 159-pound match. The card will be streamed live on FightersRep.com

Gabriel told MMA Fighting after his first kickboxing win in 2019 he dreamed of continuing his father’s legacy in combat sports and one day make a transition to MMA.

“Every time I go out for a run in the morning I remember this line I saw in a movie, a movie about a son that continued his father’s story: ‘The name will live forever,’” Silva said. “Even if not in the same way, with me doing the things he did, the name ‘Silva’ will continue in the sport. That’s my focus.”
