Masvidal doubts Conor McGregor wants to fight him

Former two-time UFC welterweight title challenger Jorge Masvidal has made a promise to his fans that he’ll fight one more time in 2022.

“Gamebred” lost to Colby Covington back in March which marked his third consecutive loss inside the Octagon. However, the 37-year-old is still one of the fan favorites and the majority of MMA fans can’t wait for the return of Masvidal.

Even though Masvidal’s future is a little bit shady due to the Miami altercation with Covington, he is firm in his believes that he’ll be back before the year ends.

“This year, guaranteed return,” he said. “I don’t know the date yet. I think that with two fights I can be in contention for the title or in a title contender fight.”

As of this point it’s pretty hard to imagine Masvidal will get a third title shot, but there are still plenty of big names that could be matched with him. Conor McGregor being one of them. Possibly.

“I would love to fight him at 170 pounds, but I don’t wait for anyone,” Masvidal said when asked about McGregor. “If he wants to do it, I’ll break his face, if he doesn’t want to do it, let him come next.”

“He is false, he knows that I am a man who hits hard and that I come to kill, I do not come to play hug in the cage, I am going to give everything inside me to kill him, and I have a little size, although now he’s injecting steroids and all kinds of things. But he is still a little boy.”
