The big news from the welterweight division just keeps on coming. After yesterday’s announcement that Errol Spence Jr. and Shawn Porter are in talks for a PPV showdown this September, today it was revealed that the WBA welterweight champ Manny Pacquiao (61-7-2) is in “advanced talks” with the WBA “Super” champion Keith Thurman (29-0-0).

It is still not a done deal, but the negotiations between the two camps and going on and the date they are aiming for is July 13 on SHOWTIME PPV. The possible venues are of course MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Barclays Center, in New York or Staples Center in Los Angeles.
“Pac Man” is coming off an easy UD vs. Adrien Broner in January. Thurman on the other hand also won his previous fight against Josesito Lopez in January, but the majority of his fans weren’t delighted to see the undefeated American struggle against Lopez.
The likelihood is that if those two fights are being held, the winners will be facing each other before 2019 is gone.
