On August 19, 2021, a press conference was held in Krakow, the subject of which was to disclose information to the public about The KWF Kyokushin Karate World Championship which will be held on November 19-20, 2021. at TAURON Arena Kraków.
The main organizer of this unique event is Małopolska Region Karate Association (MOZK), which acts under the authority in this regard Polish Karate Association (PZK) and the Kyokushin World Federation (KWF).
The conference was attended by representatives of the KWF and PZK authorities: Shihan Antonio Pinero (9th Dan) – President of Kyokushin World Federation, Shihan Andrzej Drewniak (9th Dan) – Secretary-General of the Kyokushin World Federation, Vice President of the Polish Karate Association. Mr. Grzegorz Furgał, representing the strategic sponsor of the championship, was present, which is TAURON Polska Energia S.A. On behalf of MOZK, was present Shihan Robert Kopciowski (5th Dan) – President of MOZK and Sensei Arkadiusz Sukiennik (4th Dan) – Secretary MOZK, Organizational Director of the Kyokushin Karate World Championships – Krakow 2021.
Awarded players of YMCA Kraków, preparing for the event, also participated in the conference participation in the championship: Sensei Michał Werner (3rd Dan), Sempai Anna Lisowska (2nd Dan), Sempai Anna Świątkowska (2nd Dan) and Sempai Szymon Świątkowski (2nd Dan). Before the beginning of the substantive part of the conference, the players of YMCA Kraków performed a spectacular show that included elements of kata, kumite, and tameshiwari.
After the show, at the beginning of the conference, it was emphasized that never in the history of Karate Kyokushin competitions of this rank were not held in Poland, or even in Europe. It was mostly a domain of Japan. This year, for the first time in history, in the heart of Europe, in the royal city of Krakow We hope to host the best karate players from around the world to compete for the title of World Champion.
