According to Mike Coppinger, the long awaited rematch between Robert Helenius and Adam Kownacki will take place on the undercard of the Fury-Wilder 3 PPV on July 24th. Both men have been inactive since Helenius (30-3, 19 KO) pulled off a big fourth-round TKO upset over the previously undefeated Kownacki (20-1, 15 KO) in March of last year.
The rematch was initially set to take place in the first quarter of 2021, but now it’ll get an even larger platform on the undercard of the Fury vs Wilder trilogy. It joins the previously announced PBC vs Top Rank prospect showdown between Frank Sanchez and Efe Ajagba.
The all-heavyweight extravaganza will also see the return of Jared “The Real Big Baby” Anderson (9-0, 9 KO) as he takes on fellow undefeated, but lightly tested and inactive Russian southpaw Vladimir Tereshkin (22-0-1, 12 KO).
Anderson is coming off a 2nd-round knockout of a way overmatched Jeremiah Karpency (16-3-1, 6 KO) in April. In February, he scored a 6th-round knockout against bubble-sensation Kingsley Ibeh (5-2-1, 4 KO). Tereshkin’s last fight came against Francisco Silvens (23-2, 22 KO) all the way back in November 2019 in Jamaica, and ended after Silvens failed to answer the bell for the 5th round.
