Romanian Rambo outplayed Mahdi El Hadj at SENSHI 13

Romanian Florin Lambajiu claimed his 4th consecutive victory in the SENSHI ring. “Rambo” defeated debutant Mahdi El Hadj of Morocco via unanimous decision. Lambaju had to work hard for his triumph because it came after the 4th extra round.

The bout was held according to the rules of KWU Full Contact in the category up to 80 kg, and the referee was the K-1 legend Ernesto Hoost.

The fight started calmly, but soon the two fighters entered into exchanges that did not stop until the end of the first round. The Romanian sambo and kickboxing specialist looked for his opponent’s body, while Mahdi relied on side kicks and left straights to the head.

The second round started with instant attacks from both sides, with neither having trouble landing a punch. The bout was mostly fought in the center of the ring. “Rambo” continued with his non-stop attacks in the torso of his opponent, and the knockout blows in both directions were literally inches apart. The Moroccan competitor demonstrated several times his wonderful high-kick, finding the Balkan’s head cleanly.

The high tempo carried over into the final round with powerful attacks and close range combat. Lambajiu timed his attacks carefully, but his aggressive style opened him up to heavy lefts and right rights from Mahdi on several occasions. Florin’s attacks pushed back his opponent, who was often leaning against the ropes and his only salvation was the heavy knees he placed to the body of the Romanian.

After the three rounds were played, the judges were unable to determine a winner and this led to a 4th deciding round. In it, the fatigue of both had its say and both relied on single shots to end the match. Despite everything, the more accurate shots landed to the body and head of the Moroccan debutant and in doing so Lambajiu recorded SENSHI’s 4th win in a row.

The two fighters received their special awards from three-time K-1 heavyweight champion Peter Aerts.
