Rusi Minev is just a few days away from his homecoming fight against Bruno Carvalho at the international fight gala SENSHI. This will be his first match at home since 2019 and that’s why expectations are high for him. In Bulgaria he is one of the best and most promising prospects in professional MMA.
Rusi wanted to star clear after his loss in FNC at the end of 2023. That’s why he formed a new team around him with Dragomir Yordanov and Nikolay Dobrudjanski at SC Desant. He depends on them to prepare him in the best way possible for the KWU Open rules.
“The rules set is very different from the standard MMA. We have 3 rounds for 3 minutes on hand. We can’t use our elbows. The ground game is limited to 30 seconds and we have 10 seconds for fighting in the clinch. There are not that much pauses in the fight. This makes it more attractive and dynamic. I can show my self better“, Minev said in an interview for Sportal.
He is happy to receive some positive criticism from his coach staff in order to upper his game. He also needs to become a more complex fighter because his Greco-Roman wrestling background defines his style and in high level MMA athletes need allot more in their arsenal in order to be more successful. A month after SENSHI 21 he is going to Caged Steel in Sofia where the rules a very different from the ones at KWU Open.
“We don’t have allot of high level specialists in MMA here in Bulgaria. I believe that now I have the best possible team and we will prove that in my fights this year“, the Bulgarian added.
We will see Rusi Minev on April 20th in Varna’s Palace of culture and sports for the 21 edition of SENSHI.
