SAMBO supports the white card campaign

Peace, friendship, unity, humanity, diversity, tolerance, justice – that is the real power of sport, writes “sambo.sport”.

“Support the SAMBO community, Peace and Sport – Raise your White Card with us!”, reports FIAS.

Supporting those who need, inspiring by example, sharing experience and a shaking hand after all – competitors on stage, in real life, most athletes are one family. Kindness strengthens faith in humanity and is one of the essential resources in today’s world. Resource for peace. While sports have capability for dialogue and social cohesion.

The International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP), which was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly on August 23, 2013, and takes place annually on 6 April, presents an opportunity to recognize the positive role sport and physical activity play in communities and in people’s lives across the globe.

In recognition of sport’s broad influence, the global theme of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace 2022 is, “Securing a Sustainable and Peaceful Future for All: The Contribution of Sport,” which creates an opportunity for the Day’s celebrations to promote the use of sport as a tool to advance human rights and sustainable development.

Annually, the International SAMBO Federation calls on the whole SAMBO community and each person to support the IDSDP and worldwide digital campaign #WhiteCard, created by the Peace and Sport organisation in 2015.  Raising the White Card has become a symbol of the positive power of the sport.

Due to its vast reach, unparalleled popularity and foundation of positive values, sport is ideally positioned to contribute towards the United Nations’ objectives for development and peace. And behind every #WhiteCard, there is and will be a story that promotes the well-meaning development of sport and the world.
