SENSHI’s third edition that took place on 3rd and 4th of July will be remembered not only with the fast pace action bouts, but also the presence of the world Kyokushin elite, plus two of the biggest kickboxing legends – Semmy Schilt and Peter Aerts.
That’s the reason there was an additional award ceremony to the final battles of the event. After every final bout that took place on the 4th of July some of the finest names in the combat sports were decorated with “Contribution to martial arts” award.
Special plaques were handed out to Kancho Hatsuo Royama, Shihan Andrezej Drewniak (Secretary-General of Kyokushin World Federation), Shihan Antonio Pinero (President of KWF), Shihan Ramil Gabbasov (Kyokushin World Union Board of Directors and Chairman of Russian Union of Martial Arts), Shihan Yuri Trutnev, Shihan David Pickthall (Vice-president of International Federation of Karate), Shihan Marin Mitev, Shihan Ivo Kamenov, Shihan Asen Asenov, Sensei Aleksandr Pichkunov (Secretary-general of KWU), Peter Aerts, and Semmy Schilt.
“It’s a great honor for me to receive this award. I want to say “Thank you” to the organizers. This place has become my second home, there’s so much positive energy here”, Kancho Hatsuo Royama stated. Royama is the president of Kyokushin-kan International Organization Honbu and he’s an IX dan Kyokushin-kan Karate. He’s also a co-chairman of KWU.
The first-ever “SENSHI Cup” was held on 3rd and 4th of July and it was one of the highlights of the XIII International KWU Summer Camp in Bulgaria. Every year thousands of karatekas from all over the world are coming to Kamchia to participate in one of the biggest events in the world of Karate Kyokushin.
