Teofimo Lopez reaches handshake agreement with Eddie Hearn for Devin Haney fight

Our friends at Fight Hub TV were recently on hand to catch a conversation between Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn and Teofimo Lopez Jr. and Sr. In the discussion both sides seemed quite amenable to making a fight between Lopez Jr. and Devin Haney should they both get past their upcoming bouts; Lopez is scheduled to defend his titles against George Kambosos while Haney just landed a fight with Joseph Diaz Jr.

“This is what’s gonna happen,” Hearn said to Lopez. “You’ve got to beat Kambosos and then what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna go to Bob (Arum) and I’m gonna go ‘Bob, I want to make this fight, alright’, if he doesn’t want to pay for it, I’ll pay for it. There you go.”

Lopez would then chime in by saying that ESPN could potentially want in on broadcasting that fight.

“They can have it, we can do it on ESPN,” Hearn continued. “We can do it on both. If it’s the right deal for everybody, we can do it on ESPN, we can do both, and if Bob don’t want to pay for it I’ll pay for it.”

Hearn and Lopez would both then shake hands as they both seemingly agree to the arrangement.

“It’s a pleasure to have you on DAZN” Hearn concluded.
