On April 18, 2020, Khabib Nurmagomedov will defend his UFC lightweight belt against Tony Ferguson in Brooklyn, New York, but already the bad blood is boiling.
The anticipated bout will be the fifth time that the UFC has tried to put together a fight between the two, and that has raised the stakes significantly.
In an interview with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, “El Cucuy” was very graphic when he shared what he aims to do with “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov.
“I told everybody I’m going to make him piss blood. I said that a while ago,” Tony Ferguson shared during Helwani’s MMA Show.
“This guy has got an issue and his name is Tony Ferguson and I’m coming after him. It’s hunting season, baby.”
“He’s just another opponent. I already beat that dude. I showed up to UFC 209 and I saw it in his face, I saw quit,” Tony said about a previous face-off with Khabib
“I called him out, called my shot and it worked. I’m in this dude’s head, he’s looking at me and he is going to be training so hard and be so nervous and he’s going to make a mistake. I am going to capitalize on that,” Ferguson continued.
“I’m going to catch him during the scrambles. Scrambled eggs baby.”
With so many months left before Khabib and Ferguson will share the cage, most fans are just keeping their fingers crossed that the much-anticipated title bout will actually happen.
On April 18, 2020, we will know if Ferguson will be able to execute his brutal plan or he will be the 29th defeated opponent on Khabib’s already impressive resume.
