The final UFC PPV event of the year is shaping up to be one of the promotion’s best.
During Saturday’s UFC Vegas 40 broadcast, the full fight card was revealed for UFC 269, which takes place Dec. 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
After back-to-back stoppage wins over Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier—the No. 1 ranked 155er in MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings—will get his second opportunity at the undisputed lightweight title as he challenges Charles Oliveira (No. 2 in MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings) in the main event. Oliveira captured the title with a second-round TKO win over Michael Chandler at UFC 262 in May.
The women’s bantamweight title will also be on the line in the co-main event as two-division champ Amanda Nunes—the No. 1 women’s fighter in MMA Fighting’s Pound-for-Pound Rankings—defends her 135-pound title for the first time in nearly two years against Julianna Pena.
In addition, the rivalry between Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal will be settled when they battle it out in a three-round welterweight showdown.
The main card rounds out with the flyweight debut of former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt as he takes on Kai Kara-France, while Sean O’Malley and Raulian Paiva look to take another step forward in a loaded 135-pound division.
The event’s preliminary card features Geoff Neal taking on Santiago Ponzinibbio, while former champion Dominick Cruz returns to action to face Pedro Munhoz.
