After seeing their fight postponed twice in two months, Thiago Santos and Glover Teixeira are finally close to facing off inside the cage.
The light heavyweight contenders both successfully weighed in at 205.5 pounds at Friday’s official weigh-ins for the UFC Vegas 13 main event, which takes place Saturday at UFC APEX in Las Vegas.
Santos and Teixeira were previously scheduled to fight on Aug. 12, but Teixeira was forced to withdraw due to a positive COVID-19 test. They were then re-booked for Oct. 3, only for Santos to withdraw also due to a positive COVID-19 test. Barring any other mishaps, the two now get their chance to battle for a chance at would be a second UFC title shot for both men.
All 22 fighters scheduled to compete on Saturday’s card successfully made weight, including co-main event heavyweights Andrei Arlovski (244.5) and Tanner Boser (232.5), and strawweight contenders Claudia Gadelha (115.5) and Yan Xiaonan (115.5).
