UFC 261 has its main event and it’s a banger.
A welterweight championship bout between old foes Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal will be headlining the fight night that is scheduled to take place on April 24.
UFC President Dana White declared the fight himself, as he added that the show is expected to be in front of fans. The event will take place in Jacksonville, USA, and it will be the first show since March 2020 to have a full crowd.
Kamaru Usman wanted to give Masvidal a rematch because “Gamebred” had the excuse of taking the first fight on short notice. “The Nigerian Nightmare” defeated Masvidal at UFC 251 on “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi.
Since then the champion defended his belt one more time in February 2021 when he beat Gilbert Burns. Meanwhile, “The Baddest MF” hasn’t fought since last summer when Usman beat him via UD.
