Former undisputed cruiserweight champion of the world Oleksandr Usyk weighed in on the Deontay Wilder – Tyson Fury rematch yesterday.
The Ukrainian was in London, UK, to participated in the first press conference about his upcoming fight with Derek Chisora. The pair is set to meet in May in what will mark Usyk’s second heavyweight clash.
The Olympic gold medalist was asked what he thought about the rematch between Deontay Wilder and the new WBC king Tyson Fury that took place on February 22.
Here’s what Usyk had to say:
“I’ve watched this fight maybe three times already,’ Usyk told iFL TV.
“I did like the way Fury boxed in that fight. That’s what he promised to do, he promised to box the way he did in the previous fight and it was a great performance. I enjoyed watching this fight.
“The thing I realized, why Deontay was not looking the same way as he did in the previous fights because he wasn’t sharp enough, especially in his movements.”
