Veliko Tarnovo hosted the National Kyokushin Karate Cup

On November 23, the Palace of Culture and Sports, “Vasil Levski” in Veliko Tarnovo, hosted a major sporting event – the National Kyokushin Karate Cup for men, women, juniors, and seniors. The tournament brought together 107 competitors from 24 clubs representing the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation (BKKF). The Cup, organized by the BKKF and SC “Katana”, was held with the support of the local authorities, and special guests of the sporting event were Georgi Nedev – Deputy Mayor of Veliko Tarnovo Municipality, and Marian Arabadzhiev – entrepreneur.

With the most won awards in the national tournament – 7 were the competitors of SC “Sentoki” from Burgas. Their students won 4 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals. Four special prizes were awarded to prominent participants in the final awarding ceremony. The prize for “Most Technical Competitor” was awarded to Ivan Kostov from SK “Doychev 2020”, Yambol, and Ema Kurdomanova from SC “Dojo”, Silistra. The talented karatekas who deserved the prize for “Highest fighting spirit” were Viktor Vassilev from SC “Katana,” Veliko Tarnovo, and Gergana Marinova from SC “Sentoki”, Burgas.

Traditionally, on the day of the event, the hosts from SC “Katana”, Veliko Tarnovo, planted trees near the Palace of Culture and Sports “Vasil Levski” in order to show the values of the martial art, which educates not only champions but also responsible young people.

Before the end of the year, there will be one more national competition on the BKKF sports calendar, which will be the final one of the season. This is the Christmas tournament for children up to 8 and up to 10 years in Stara Zagora. It will be held on December 15 and bring together young sports talents in karate kyokushin from Bulgaria.
