WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade has been ordered by the World Boxing Organisation to defend his belt against the little known Kazakh fighter Zhanibek Alimkhanuly.
Andrade juсt recently stopped Ireland’s Jason Quigley via second round TKO and successfully defended his belt for a fifth straight time. “Boo Boo” and Alimkhanuly have 20 days to to agree to terms for the fight or it will go down to purse bids.
There’s a big chance Andrade could vacate his title, because he wants to fight bigger opponents at this stage of his career.
The 28-year-old Kazakh is a former World Champion in the amateur rankings and has a 11-0 pro record, with his latest victory coming in November when he defeated Hassan N’Dam.
