2023 World Judo Championships Flag is Handed Over to Qatar

On 12 October 2022, the 2023 World Judo Championships flag was handed over to the state of Qatar, the next host country of the event, at a momentous handover ceremony in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The ceremony was held during the visit of the organising committee of the World Judo Championship Doha 2023 to the Uzbek capital to attend the ongoing world championship.

Eid Al Muraikhi, Head of the Sports Committee at the World Judo Championship – Doha 2023 Organizing Committee said, “It is an absolute honour for us to receive the world judo championships flag from the IJF. We congratulate Tashkent and the Judo Federation of Uzbekistan for hosting a successful edition of World Judo Championships and we thank all the teams for their support over these few days, transferring their knowledge and expertise to our teams.”

“Hosting the upcoming edition of the World Judo Championships is another feather in Qatar’s cap in light of its commitment to the development of judo in our region,” he added.
