Jon Jones hints at interest in Jan Blachowicz fight rather than Dominick Reyes

Late Friday night, the UFC light heavyweight champion took to Twitter to respond to recent comments from Reyes, who has been calling for a rematch against Jones after since he lost a razor-close decision to him back in February.

While Reyes is fully committed to a second fight, he says that Jones has been dragging his feet in negotiations because he doesn’t want another dog fight after they spent five rounds battling it out in the Octagon at UFC 247.

Jones quickly countered by jabbing back at Reyes’ assessment of their first fight while also hinting at a potential showdown with Jan Blachowicz instead of an automatic rematch for his next title defense.

“Now suddenly I’m afraid of a good dogfight?” Jones said in response to Reyes. “Pretty sure I walked him down for 25 minutes straight when we fought.

“One thing about being the champion of the world, you got to search for fresh meat on every soil. I’m feeling like popping some [cherries] in Poland, haven’t had that yet.”

The reference to Poland is undoubtedly made towards Blachowicz, who is currently riding a three-fight win streak including knockouts over Corey Anderson and Luke Rockhold. Blachowicz called for a title shot immediately after his last win but there has still been a lot of buzz about a potential rematch between Jones and Reyes.

Nothing has been decided yet but Jones has no problem sticking it to Reyes while simultaneously teasing that Blachowicz might get the next shot at his belt when he returns to action later this year.
