UFC lightweight ruler Khabib Nurmagomedov made it more thqn clear that once his Ramadan observing is over.
The champion was scheduled to fight Tony Ferguson in what was one of the most highly anticipated ights in UFC history, but the coronavirus outbreak postponed all major sporting events.
“The Eagle” was in his homeland of Russia when a lot of countries locked their borders and he wasn’t able to fly back to the US where the fight with Ferguson was supposed to take place.
Instead Khabib was replaced with Justin Gaethje who will now square off with “El Cucuy” for the interim lightweight championship.
Looking back at all the thin that took place, one should be asking why was Nurmagomedov replaced when the initial date for the fight got canceled.
It is now obvious that the winner of the Tony – Justin fight will face Khabib later in 2020, but the Russian seemed to have something to say about this scenario.
“I can fight anytime – Ramadan finishes May 23. July I’m gonna be ready,” Nurmagomedov said. “Stop talking about me, this is coronatime. When Khabibtime come I will smash all of them.”
