Almost a year after his last fight, the former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva has undergone a knee surgery.
“The Spider” was last seen in action at UFC 237 last May whrn Jarred Cannonier defeated him. Right afternth fight Anderson’s team announced that th injury wasn’t severe even though he has been inactive since then.
“I finished my knee surgery. I will recover now,” Silva said in Portuguese. “I’m fine, and wanted to thank everyone’s support, and (thank) my fans that cheer for me. I’ll be 100 percent soon, and do my two fights in the UFC. I wanted to thank every UFC fan. I finished my surgery and everything is fine, I’m going home. Thanks.”
Silva has mentioned in the past he has two bouts left in his current contract with the UFC. “The Spider” is looking to bounce back from losses to future champion Israel Adesanya and Cannonier, part of a disappointing 1-6-0-1 run in the UFC since 2013.
