Third time’s the charm.
At least that’s what boxing fans are hoping to be the case for the Artur Beterbiev – Adam Deines fight.
The WBC and IBF light heavyweight champion will be returning to the ring on March 20 in Moscow when he will be defending his belts against Germany’s Adam Deines.
The fight was postponed two-times last year. Initially, the bout had to take place in October, but the Russian champion suffered a rib injury that delayed the clash. Then the pair had to meet in December, but the unified champion tested positive for COVID-19 and the fight was waved off again.
“At long last, Artur Beterbiev will defend his world titles as he looks to kick off his 2021 campaign in devastating fashion,” said Top Rank chairman Bob Arum. “We have big plans for Artur, but he must first take care of business in Moscow.”
Beterbiev, 36, last fought in October 2019 when he defeated Ukraine’s Oleksandr Gvozdyk. Meanwhile, Deines, 29, hasn’t fought since September 2019.
