Dagestan’s Khabib Nurmagomedov retired from the mixed martial arts with a perfect 29-0 record. The Russian did something very few sports stars have ever managed to do – retire while being on the top.
That being said, former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson believes there should be a drastic change in “The Eagle” resume.
“El Cucuy” and Nurmagomedov were scheduled to fight five times in the past, but in the end it never happened. Bad weight-cuts, injuries, pandemic…
Even though it wasn’t always Khabib fault the bout didn’t take place, Ferguson believes he “tapped mentally” and therefore his record should be 29-1.
