GLORY middleweight and light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira is far from done with rewriting history.
The Brazilian is by far the most accomplished fighter of kickboxing’s premier organization, but that is just the beginning for him. “Poatan” became the light heavyweight king this January, defeating Artem Vakhitov via SD.
Now he has his eyes on the bigger price – the heavyweight crown and Rico Verhoeven.
“Right after beating Vakhitov and conquering my second Glory belt, I challenged Rico Verhoeven,” ‘Poatan’ explained. “I’m the first to conquer belts in two divisions at the same time, now I want to challenge myself once more. I think I have the technical tools to surprise Rico.”
Pereira also analyzed former rival Adesanya’s first loss in MMA, a man he faced and beat twice.
“He was clearly afraid of being hit by Jan Blachowicz, and that fear made him lose,” Pereira stated matter-of-factly.
