Shohei Ono will be fighting at the Open weight at the All Japan Judo Championships in Tokyo end of December, reports Judo Inside.
Ono announced it recently and can definitely damage some of the plus weights. He trains with heavier players all the time and will be aiming to get a medal at the All Japan Championships.
The double Olympic Champion will obviously continue to take a third Olympic medal at the Paris Olympic Games in three years. For now he announced to have some fun at the Open Weight category.
Ono previously competed at Open Championships in his own country, so it will not be new to him. Also at training camps he trains with top judoka from other weights.
We remember he threw Teddy Riner at a trainingcamp in Castelldefels, although that was obviously a training situation.
“He virtually has no weakness” – Japanese men’s coach Kosei Inoue 💪
It was another successful #JudoWorlds for Shohei Ono at the iconic Nippon Budokan in Tokyo 🥇
