Jake Paul is not really interested in going through that process with booking Tommy Fury clash again.
On Monday, Fury officially announced his withdrawal from their previously-scheduled Dec. 18 boxing match due to illness and injury.
“For the Furys it’s an embarrassment,” Paul said. “They said, ‘Oh, we’ll fight Jake with a broken rib. We’ll fight Jake with a chest infection. We’ll fight Jake with our arms tied behind our back.’ Then, when it actually came to fighting me, they pulled out. It sucks, but it is what it is.”
“He didn’t show up to the press conference and then he pulled out of the fight,” Paul told MMA Junkie. “He’s done a terrible job of promoting the fight that we had. He posted on social media whenever, once every other week. He’s not as hype as everyone thought. I’m pissed off now. I don’t like them. I don’t like anything to do with the family. I think they’re sketchy and shady. And I don’t see really a reason to come back next year and give him that big of an opportunity and that big of a payday.”
“It would almost be more fun and more satisfying to leave him in the dust and make him fight until he’s 25-0 – if he even gets that far, to get the same payday he was getting in his eighth fight. You know, we’ll see. We’ll see.”
Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley 2 takes place Dec. 18 at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.
