Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway will complete the trilogy at UFC 272 in March.
Despite Volkanovski (23-1 MMA, 10-0 UFC) already holding two wins over Holloway (23-6 MMA, 19-6 UFC), the pair will for the featherweight championship on the line.
UFC president Dana White announced the news to broadcast partner ESPN on Wednesday.
UFC 272 takes place March 5 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims expected on ESPN and ESPN+.
Volkanovski, 33, who is one of four fighters in UFC history to start 10-0 inside the octagon, first took the 145-pound title from Holloway, 30, by unanimous decision at UFC 245 in December 2019.
The pair had an immediate rematch at UFC 251 in July 2020, with Volkanovski winning again, but this time by controversial split decision. There was demand to put a third fight together instantly, but the promotion opted to show some patience.
