Former UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington (14-1) thinks that the new welterweight king Kamaru Usman (15-1) is avoiding a fight with him. “The Nigerian Nightmare” defeated Tyron Woodley at UFC 235 for the welterweight belt and Covington made it clear that he wants his shot. Things between them got little heated as they got in a scuffle in one of the thousands casinos in Vegas.
Soon after that, the champ had to undergo surgery and his manager, Ali Abdelaziz said that Ben Askren and Jorge Masvidal should be the next ones in line.
That has clearly left “Chaos” wondering if Usman even wants to fight him.
“Maybe. I don’t know. Is low-energy Marty gonna follow in the footsteps of his predecessor Tyrone Woodley? He’s already faking injuries again, another move that Woodley used to love to do,” Covington said on BJPENN.com Radio.

“We saw in that Palms buffet line he was fine with his foot. He was acting all hostile but saying all this stuff that he was gonna brutalize me on ESPN. But now we haven’t heard a word out of him, you know? I was ready to go June or July, but I haven’t heard one thing yet,” he continued.
“So, he’s probably gonna go for the path of least resistance and that’s either taking another fight with Woodley or even getting that 36-year-old virgin, Ben Askren. I’m the only guy that talks the talk and walks the walk. So let’s see what happens with Marty Snoozeman. Let’s see if he accepts it,” Covington said.
“Let’s see if he doesn’t change his tune. It sounds like he’s already going to mute and he’s trying to avoid me and run away from me. He wants to look for the path of least resistance. Let’s see what happens. Anything can happen. I think Snoozeman might try and run from this fight and avoid it at all costs.”
