The World Boxing Organization has ordered the undisputed super-welterweight champion Jermell Charlo to defend his WBO belt against Australia’s Tim Tszyu.
Both camps has three weeks to reach a deal before WBO orders a purse bid.
Charlo, 32, captured the WBO belt in May when he defeated Brian Castano via 10th round KO. If Charlo decides to vacate his the WBO belt, Tszyu will have to face the number 2 ranked fighter, which in this case would be former champion Liam ‘Beefy’ Smith.
Tszyu, 27, is undefeated. “The Soul Taker” is headed towards his first world championship fight. The son of the legendary fighter Kostya Tszyu hs never fought a fighter such as Charlo and this will be by far his biggewst challenge
