Eddie Alvarez broke his silence on Tuesday.
The former UFC and Bellator lightweight titleholder came up short in his ONE Championship debut, losing to Timofey Nastyukhin by first-round knockout and suffering back-to-back losses for the first time in his 37-fight career.
“The Underground King”, who was eliminated from ONE’s lightweight grand prix, released a statement on his social media on Tuesday, admitting to be “disappointed and confused in my inability to not pull the trigger and my hesitancy on recent fight nights” and revealing that Nastyukhin’s strikes “split” both of his eyelids “in half”.
