ESPN reports Jarrell Miller has tested positive for the performance-enhancing substance GW1516 ahead of his June 1st bout with Anthony Joshua. The positive result came from a random VADA test on March 20th.
No word yet as to the fight’s status, though Joshua promoter Eddie Hearn chimed in.
Any layman looking at Miller and Joshua’s respective builds would be flabbergasted by this news, but as any MMA fan can tell you, the eye test isn’t foolproof.
GW1516, also known as Endurobol or Cardarine, is a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) that has been around since the 1990s. SARMs have been prohibited by WADA since 2008; Ostarine, which Lucian Bute and Alexander Povetkin tested positive for, is another example.
Also, Endurobol apparently gives you cancer.
