We are just days away from the first major heavyweight title fight of the year.
This Saturday night in Brooklyn, New York, the WBC champion Deontay Wilder (40-0-1) will be making his 9th title defense. This time the challenger is the 33-years-old Dominic Breazeale (20-1-0) who will have his second and probably last chance of getting to the top of the division. “Trouble’s first glimpse at the world heavyweight belt was in 2016 when the American got TKO’d by Anthony Joshua.
“The Bronze Bomber” is, of course, the favorite going into the fight, but his fellow countryman will be trying to spoil the party by claiming his first ever world championship.
Yesterday in New York, both boxers had their open workouts for the media, showcasing their skills and power.
Breazeale last fought in December when he defeated Carlos Negron via KO.
Wilder’s last fight was also in December – a draw against Tyson Fury.
