Rico Verhoeven yearns for a second Badr Hari fight

GLORY heavyweight kickboxing champion Rico Verhoeven (55-10-0) expressed his strong desire to have a second bout with one of the biggest superstars in today’s kickboxing – Badr Hari (106-13-0).

The champ even went further and gave GLORY an ultimatum – either he gets the fight with Hari or he won’t sign a new deal with the organization. His current deal expires in December 2019.

“I want Badr Hari for my next fight. The way I see it, this could be arranged for December. I don’t see any reasons for GLORY to wait”, the 30-years-old Dutch stated.

Just a week ago, the 34-years-old Hari signed a new 3-year deal with the premier kickboxing league, but the Morrocan is still ineligible to fight because of the ban he received due to a failed drug test.

“Everybody wanna see a second fight between us. GLORY should be all in on this one”, “The King of Kickboxing” continiued.

If Verhoeven and Hari meet in December, the event will mark the 3-year anniversary from the first encounter they had. The two faced each other back in 2016 at GLORY 36 and the younger Dutch won via TKO in the second round.

“My contract with GLORY is done. I’ll sit for negotiations only after my next fight is set up. It’s simple as that. I want Badr Hari.”

Rico’s last fight was last year at GLORY 59 when he defeated Guto Inocente via UD. Hari, on the other hand, hasn’t fought since March 2018 when he defeated Hesdy Gerges, but the fight was overturned to a “No Contest” due to the drug tests failures both kickboxers had.
