Former UFC light heavyweight Anthony Johnson is planning his return to the world of mixed martial arts next year.
The former two-time UFC title challenger was last seen inside the Octagon in April 2017 when he lost to Daniel Cormier in a fight for the UFC light heavyweight championship. As has been proven over the years, the fighter’s retirement plan is not usually for too long.
The news was broken by the manager Ali Abdelaziz, but this time Johnson is about to try the heavyweight division. According to Abdelaziz, Johnson is interested in facing someone along the likes of Alistair Overeem or Junior dos Santos in his return.
The last time Rumble made it to the headlines was because he got arrested on May 5, 2019, in Florida after an incident with his girlfriend.
