It’s official. UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman (15-1) will be defending his belt against Colby Covington (15-1) at UFC 245 this December 14 in Las Vegas.
The pair will headline the last major UFC show for 2019, as this bout was a long time coming one. This will be the third championship bout announced for UFC 245. The featherweight champion Max Holloway will fight Alexander Volkanovski and the women’s bantamweight queen Amanda Nunes will fight Germaine de Randamie.
The 32-year-old Usman will be making his first title defense since he captured the title back in March when he defeated Tyron Woodley. Covington, 31, is #2 in UFC welterweight rankings. The American secured his title fight when he defeated Robbie Lawler in August.
