An Uzbekistan MMA fighter has passed away this Monday, just three days after his last fight.
Bekzod Nurmatov, 27, fought on the Absolute Championships of Akhmat event ACA 100 that took place in Chechnya on October 4. The Uzbek fought in a welterweight bout against Chechen fighter Beslan Isaev. Nurmatov lost a close SD and later suffered a stroke before being taken to hospital. He fell into a coma and died on Monday, October 7.

“The Akhmat fight club and its president Abuzayd Vismuradov express their sincere condolences to the relatives and friends of Bekzod Nurmatov about the irreparable loss. We knew Bekzod was a good, decent, kind person, and a talented athlete. May the Almighty show him his mercy and grant happiness in the eternal world. We grieve with his family!”
Nurmatov had an 11-2 pro record and was also a cadet with the Armed Forces Academy in Uzbekistan.
