Jan Blachowicz (25-8 MMA, 8-5 UFC) spoiled the light heavyweight debut of Ronaldo Souza. In the main event of UFC on ESPN+ 22 UFC, Blachowicz edged out a split decision over Souza (26-8 MMA, 9-5 UFC).
The fight show was held in Brasil.
With the victory, Blachowicz has compiled back-to-back wins since being knocked out by Thiago Santos in February. He got back into the win column when he knocked out former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold at UFC 239 in July. Blachowicz has now won five out of his most recent six outings.
