Russia’s sambo and MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko (39-6) will be sending 2019 away with a smile on his face.
“The Last Emperor” defeated another big-time mixed martial arts pioneer – Quinton Jackson (38-14) last night in Bellator 237’s main event. The show took place in Saitama, Japan.
The bout ended in the opening round when the 43-year-old Emelianenko landed a brutal right cross in Jackson’s face. Fedor was the faster and lighter fighter in the cage and he used his physical advantages. “Rampage” got hit with a couple of nice combos, as he tried to answer with some body shots, but the former sambo world champion wasn’t terrified at all.
That’s when the first round was almost halfway though when the two guys were standing in the center of the cage and Fedor put the smackdown on his opponent with a single right hand that went straight to the jaw of Quinton.
