Aleksandr Karelin Highlights & Training

When we talk about the greatest of all time in any sports there’s always a debate.

In football, you can say, Zinedine Zidane, Diego Maradona, Pele, Messi and on and on. In basketball, you could say Michael Jordan, Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar… In volleyball, there’s Giba, Hugo Conte, Nikola Grbic…

But when it comes to wrestling and the Greco-Roman style there’s no argument there. The most powerful, the most elite and the most successful wrestler of all-time is none other than Russia’s Aleksandr Karelin.

“The Russian Bear” is a three-time Olympic champion, nine-time World champion, 12-time European champion and holds a wrestling record of 887 wins and only 2 loses. He competed in the heaviest division (130 kg) and for a good 15 years, there was absolutely nobody who could match with him.

Let’s rewind the time a little bit and enjoy some of his training and highlights with these two videos.
