Bulgaria’s best mixed martial artist Blagoy Ivanov (18-2) is moving up in the latest UFC heavyweight rankings.
The 32-years-old combat sambo and judo practitioner moved up from 13 to 11 following his UD win over Tai Tuivasa (8-2) at UFC 238. That was his second straight victory in UFC. Meanwhile, Tuivasa fell off to the number 12 spot.
At the number one spot is Stipe Miocic (18-3) who will be challenging the champ Daniel Cormier (22-1) at UFC 241. Second place is reserved for Francis Ngannou (13-3) and the top 3 is completed by former heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos (21-5).
After his win over “Bam Bam”, Ivanov expressed his desire to face Derrick Lewis, who’s currently #5 in the rankings and if the Bulgarian manages to get his third UFC win, he’ll become the number 1 challenger for the heavyweight belt.
